Title: Writing Magic: Creating Stories that Fly Author: Gail Carson Levine (of Ella Enchanted) Synopsis: This book contains tips from Ms. Levine that she has found useful in writing. I personally find it very useful and at some point hope to get back to doing writing workshops utilizing this as textbook. The price has dropped significantly from when I first got my copy, so it is much more affordable now for those on a budget. Link: amzn.to/2QoYhqr

Title: Seeds From a Birch Tree: Writing Haiku and The Spiritual Journey Author: Clark Strand Synopsis: This book is definitely one to get if you can. It covers not only the basic layout but the spirit behind haiku, including the not-quite-haiku. It is aimed at the beginner but can still be very useful for advanced writers. I have used this successfully in workshops on haiku, and some of those sessions are archived on my Youtube channel. Link: amzn.to/2PdG8Ht

Title: On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft Author: Stephen King Synopsis: Did you know that he kept all his rejection letters on a nail above his desk, or that he had a very thick sheaf of them before his writing was accepted? I found this to be a inspirational book where this famous author got down, gritty, and honest about his process. Link: amzn.to/2U42qyW
